SNEAK PEEK- Peter Shue “Life of the Party”

Here’s a sneak peek to an amazing article in FELON MAGAZINE ISSUE 14 (out later this week) featuring hood legend Peter Shue. For the full magazine or article, check out our store

Felon Magazine: Peter how are you? It’s great to see you.

Peter Shue: It’s great to see you, man.

FM: Welcome home!

PS: I love Felon Magazine, I’m glad its back out. I used to read it when I was in jail, so thank you for welcoming me home, it’s good to be home.

FM: For the people who don’t know where are you from, what’s your nationality? You look like me, I’m Japanese and Black.

PS: Yea, I’m Chinese and Black. I grew up in the Bronx but I’m from New York. I don’t claim a borough, I claim the state, you know, ‘cause that’s what we about. New York is that town.

FM: Okay, so growing up because you were Asian did you get treated differently? Because I know I did. Was it positive or negative for you?

PS: Well my neighborhood was tough. I grew up in the Hunts Point area, so you had to be tough to survive Hunts Point. Yea, it’s the South Bronx, we had prostitution, we had drugs, gangsters, killers. We had stray dogs even trying to attack you every day, you know, so you had to be ready for anything. So it was rough growing up in the South Bronx but you know, it either makes you or breaks you.
